It’s no secret, my tool of choice when creating websites is WordPress. Now before you go on about how lame that is using an open source blogging software to create websites, there are a few things you should know. When using WordPress to build a website, you build a site the new site owners can update easily without having to call you every time they need a change. This is a huge advantage over the older site design tools like Dreamweaver and Frontpage, etc.

The other thing to keep in mind is that WordPress offers plug-ins which make optimizing the site for search engines easier. There are plug-ins for e-commerce solutions, there are plug-ins for contact forms and order forms, price quotes, and more. One of the best features is the ability most WordPress templates give the designer to change the code to suite the needs of the client. When changing the PHP and HTML coding, it is possible to add buttons in the header, video, change colors to custom colors, etc.
WordPress may be “blogging” software, but the advantages are huge when it comes to creating a website that looks amazing and is easy to manage. One of my favorite tools to use is a software called Artisteer. This software allows the user to create custom WordPress themes very easily. I use this tool to build the basic look, and then customize the code further to make the sites look exactly as I want them too. Below is a list of sites I’ve built recently using WordPress.
